The Sextant Review is a quarterly literary journal based in Port Townsend, Washington. It was founded in 2017 as a part of the Northwind Arts Center's 11-year-old literary program, the Northwind Reading Series.
The journal's mission is to foster the literary community throughout the Olympic Peninsula and Pacific Northwest regions by creating a literary arts-focused platform that features local artists alongside writers from around the world. Through this exchange, local communities gain more access to the contemporary literary world, and writers from other communities can gain access to the beauty and culture of the Peninsula. The journal is also a means to further engage the community in future literary projects providing the groundwork for writing workshops for people in local underserved communities.
We strive to create a platform for established and emerging writers to share high quality literary work across a broad spectrum of readers, seeking ways to create bridges between the specialized literary scene and the general community.
